Trip to Boulder

Pat and I went to my hometown of Boulder for a long Fourth of July weekend. This was Pat's first opportunity to meet my parents. She was a little nervous before the trip, but we had a great visit, and her current medication really seems to have stopped the twitching.

We spent a lot of time visiting with my old friends Walter and Cathy.

Of course we had to get dolled up and go dancing.

Brainard Lake

We went for a number of little hikes. This series of pictures is actually from Long Lake, which is near Brainard Lake.

We thought this one would make a pretty good postcard, eh?

 

Check out the snow! We didn't get very far on this hike because the trails were such a mess.

Gold Hill

Walter did a bike race up Sunshine Canyon. We went to go watch him, but we were too busy taking pictures of ourselves to pay attention to the race.

Flagstaff

And of course you can't take a visitor to Boulder without going up Flagstaff mountain. This is from the super-duper side of Flagstaff (further up the road towards Gross Reservoir), looking down into Boulder Canyon.
