Big Dig Walk

As residents of Boston, we're all pretty excited about the Boston Central Artery/Tunnel Project, AKA "The Big Dig". It's a 13 year, $16,000,000,000 public works project, building a system of tunnels and bridges that will free us from traffic jams on Interstate 93. Or at least move the traffic jams underground and out of sight. The project is nearing completion (it should be fully operational in 2004), and the organizers have offered a couple of pedestrian tours on weekends this summer. Pat and I waited in line with 500,000 other patient Bostonians for a first-hand look at one of the new tunnels.
